Hex assembly generally takes a few hours. Requires a powered screwdriver to fix provided screws in pre-drilled pilot holes to attach panels.
We do recommend finding a friend as the panels are easier to handle with two people.
Pickup free of charge at our shop in St Louis Park. Requires either a drop-down trailer or rental of a forklift at our site for a fee.

Short answer - yes it is safe.
While certain plastics like PVC and acrylic are not rated for sauna temperatures, polycarbonate is meant to be used in high-heat environments and trusted in commercial architecture, healthcare facilities, and medical device manufacturing.
We didn't just take our manufacturer's specs at face value, we hired an independent Certified Industrial Hygienist tested our sauna at 246°F, measuring 74 VOCs against the strictest safety standards in the industry. Every VOC was negligible or non-detectable. Read the full report here.
Additional bonus - the material is shatterproof and virtually unbreakable. We once had a tree fall on a client's sauna and it didn't break!
Electric stoves requires a licensed electrician to install a 220V/40A breaker.
Wood-fired stoves require nothing but seasoned wood.

All NorthUp models are lightweight and do not require a permanent foundation. Note the Hex does not come with flooring. Optionally add a non-slip flooring option, or set directly on ground, deck, or pad.
We recommend choosing a spot that is level.
Options for foundation include:
- Patio pavers, blocks, or gravel to prevent settling
- Decking
- Concrete foundation
- Directly on the grass/dirt (not recommended long term)
Sauna should be 10’ from all combustibles at or above chimney level if purchasing a wood-fired sauna. No requirements for electric sauna.
Certain municipalities require setbacks from property lines, water, or other structures. Our structures can usually either be considered temporary or are below square footage cutoffs to avoid permitting. Check your local building codes.
